Costa Rica: Southern Reaches for Birds and More

2024 will be my 20th year of leading photo/birding tours to Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is bird-rich country. We've selected locally-owned lodges that give us space plus amazing photo opportunities. The water is safe to drink, food is agreeable, and travel easy.

We'll visit the southern provinces including Savegre for the resplendent quetzal, Las Cruces Biological Station near the boarder with Panama, the Golfo Dulce on the Pacific coast, and lush rainforest property along the Tarcoles River. Photograph hummingbirds up close, marvel at toucans, parrots, monkeys, and enjoy spectacular scenery.

Tanzania Photo Safari

They say that once you visit Africa you will always go back. That's so true with me. Join me for a return visit to Tanzania. Birds and mammals galore.

We'll begin in Arusha and then travel to Tarangire National Park. From there, it's Ngorongoro Crater, Ndutu, and the central Serengeti.

We'll stay in quaint field camps and incredible hotels. There's a bit for everyone but we'll always have an eye on your comfort and safety. Magnificent views, expert guides, and amazing wildlife. Only 4-5 people per stretch Land Cruiser.

Traveling companions are welcome. No need to be a photographer. This trip is an adventure.

Brazil's Pantanal -- Jaguars and Birds

Join me for a return visit to one of the wildest places in South America.

The Pantanal hosts one of the largest populations of jaguars in the world. We'll cruise the Pixaim River stopping for jaguars, giant river otter, caiman, plus macaws, kingfishers, jabaru storks, and more.

Puglia Italy -- The Heel of the Boot

Nine days of walking and photographing with tour leader Kathy Adams Clark and local guides.

UNESCO site where people have been living in caves since the Stone Age. Wander, eat, explore, and enjoy with quiet part of Italy.

Costa Rica Northern Reaches -- Birds

Visit the northern reaches of Costa Rica for an amazing number of birds.

Join Kathy Adams Clark as we explore Tenorio Volcano National Park, Maquenque National Wildlife refuge, the Arenal Volcano area, and the Guanacaste Region. Mountains, lowlands, tropical jungles, and dry forest. Several habitates for a wide variety of birds including king vulture, great green macaw, chestnut-mandibled toucan, great curassow, and green honeycreeper.

Spain's Andalusia

Andalusia is one of the most picturesque regions of Spain. Granda's Alhambra, Seville's Alcazar, Cordoba's Meztiqua are the grande stops. Moorish architecture, charming villages, tapas, and flamenco dancers. What an amazing location to explore with your camera.

Of course, we'll eat, discuss photography, share photos, and learn new techniques.

Greenland -- Glaciers & Auroras

Join us for this amazing adventure to the frozen land of Greenland.

Five days to photograph icebergs, glaciers, and Inuit villages of Western Greenland

Greenland Boat excursions with heated cabin and bathroom, to explore and photograph fjords, islands, and melting glaciers, calving before you into the sea.

One of these excursions will be an overnight Glamping experience, taking a pathway from the dock to your heated tents, under the stars, and one of your best chances for Northern Lights.

New Zealand -- Birds & Landscapes

Due to conservation efforts you will have opportunities to capture birds you cannot capture anywhere else in the world on Tiri Tiri Matangi Island and Stewart Island.

Magnificent Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park and Mount Cook National Park.

Early morning photography of both the Southern Alps and Lake Moeraki.

Take an optional helicopter flight on to the Fox or Franz Josef Glaciers. Photograph in the sheep station high-country, part of New Zealand’s economy and culture. Relax and photograph in a stunning location at Arthur’s Pass National Park.

Optional extension to photograph the architecture and gardens of Christchurch, and the Kaikoura Coast for wildlife

Czech Republic Prague to Moravia

Prague, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled cities of Europe. Continue the journey to photograph what is considered the Moravian Tuscany.

Explore and photograph the historic city center of Naples, with its rich architecture, ruins of Herculeum, and sunset photography of Vesuvius.

Accommodations with beautiful views from Sorrento and Amalfi. Day trips to the lesser known islands of Ischia and Procida. Hill towns along the Amalfi Coast such as Positano, Atrani, and Raito.

Optional Sicily Extension with views of Etna, off the beaten path hill towns of the honey-gold baroque UNESCO world heritage site of Noto and charming hill town of Ragusa, and Ortigia the finest least spoiled old town of Siracusa, with its resonances of light, stone, and sea.
